- Tested the battery, starting, and charging system = ok. Tested for parasitic drain = 1.7 amp draw. When the feed wire to the HID system was disconnected, the parasitic drain went away. Conclusion: the HID system is faulty.
- Removed the HID system, including headlamp assemblies. Replace headlamp assemblies and install LED bulbs. This however had a negative interaction with the lamp driver in the control module and caused the LEDs to flicker or go out when switching between low and high beam. The "lamp out" message was still displayed. When using incandescent bulbs, the system worked normally and warning message was not displayed.
