Services Performed
- Engine did not start and the compression sounded low. Checked codes: P0456, P0017, P0135, P0106. Removed valve cover to check chain timing. The chain was very loose and the camshafts were badly out of sync. Removed spark plugs and all camshaft caps (to seat the valves). Performed cylinder leak test: 1=15%, 2=15%, 3=5%, 4=5% (max 10%). Added ATF to 1&2, retested and passed. Conclude the valves are ok, but rings were washed down. Will need timing components
- Also replaced front crankshaft seal, timing tensioner, and guide
- Replace spark plugs
- Additional labor to replace spark plug tube seals, clean out oil pan, degrease engine, remove camshaft sprockets and test alignment pins
- Oil and filter change service
